In the end of May our CEO JP paid a visit to Kinya Hashimoto's Jiu-Jitsu school in Tokyo. Kinya is Japan's most prominent BJJ reporter. He's been covering every major event around the globe for many years. He's the host and producer of the "Jiu-Jitsu Priest" YouTube channel and the editor of the "Jiu-Jitsu Nerd" magazine.
There were two other black belts in attendance: Edson Kagohara who's the man behind the Dumau Kimonos and Tournaments; and Yuji Goto, the head instructor at Isshin Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Kamata. It was a very laid back training session. JP showed a sequence of guard techniques in self defense scenarios and then answered some questions. He also took advantage to learn some nice footlock setups from Kagohara-san and got some rounds of sparring to help beat the jet lag.
If you are ever in Tokyo, make sure to stop by Muse Academy and meet Hashimoto-san and his group of friends and students. Great training environment with English speaking available.
And remember that we have the limited edition Isami Jiu-Jitsu Prist Gi for sale right here at ChokeSports. It's a one of a kind black BJJ kimono with some really cool and creative patches. Click the image below to see full details and how to order.
