I love the quality. This will last for a long time. This is not a cost effective purchase, rather a celebration of an achievement. When you factor in the duties charged, this is more than many gis.
Store owner replied:
Hello Randy,
Thank you for the honest review of your Isami BJJ Black Belt Premium, and for being a longtime ChokeSports customer. We really appreciate you coming back to us for your gear over the years.
We're glad to hear the belt itself still holds up as your favorite. The added cost you're seeing on the import and customs side is part of the new reality of international shopping right now: US customs duties on incoming shipments have gone up industry wide, and that's a cost outside of our control, not a markup we add. We try to flag this for US customers ahead of checkout so there are no surprises, but we know that doesn't make the sting any less real when the total lands higher than expected.
Thank you again for your continued trust in ChokeSports.

Its been a dream since I started jiu jitsu to one day have my own customized Isami black belt. My first professor had one. Growing up in the karate dojo, once you earned your black belt you received one with your name sewn into it. This feels like a connection to my roots and a celebration of my commitment to martial arts. I'm blown away. Its exactly what I was hoping for.
Store owner replied:
Hello Justin,
Thank you so much for sharing such a meaningful review of your custom Isami BJJ Black Belt Premium! Having your name sewn into your own black belt is a real milestone, and we're honored to have been part of that moment for you. Connecting that tradition back to your roots in the karate dojo and to your journey in jiu jitsu is exactly the kind of story that reminds us why we love what we do.
We also want to say thank you for coming back to ChokeSports for this order. It means a lot to have your continued trust for something as personal as your rank belt.
Congratulations again on this milestone, Justin, and thank you for choosing ChokeSports to help mark it.

Glad I went with the size XL for the long spats. I'm a 5'06", 165 lb male and I was worried the XL might be too long for my height but it turned out to work well, providing coverage past my calves. The product looks good, fits well, and offers good range of motion.
Store owner replied:
Hello Antonio,
Thank you for the detailed review and photos of your Matex Long Spats! It's great to hear the XL worked out even better than you expected, giving you that extra calf coverage without feeling too long for your height.

Glad I went with the size XL for the long sleeve rash guard. I'm a 5'06", 165 lb male and I usually order size L for rash guards sold in the US. The product looks good, fits well (even for my longer than average arms), and offers good range of motion.
Store owner replied:
Hello Antonio,
Thank you for the thorough review of your Matex Rash Guard Long! Glad to hear sizing up to XL gave you the fit you were after, especially with the extra length working well for your arms.
It's great that the look, fit, and range of motion are all holding up for training, and the sizing detail against US rash guards is really helpful context for other customers.

The shorts run true to size so no need to worry about sizing concerns on this product. As a 5'06"/165 lb/male, I usually wear a size L for products from Japan and a size M for products in the US. I also have enough room to wear spats under these shorts.
Store owner replied:
Hello Antonio,
Thank you for the review of your Isami Stretch Fight Shorts! Glad to hear these ran true to size, and that there's enough room to layer spats underneath comfortably.

These ended up fitting better than I expected. Right out of the packaging they fit perfectly, with just a slight looseness in the waist area that allows the drawstring to get u the exact amount of tightness you want. Drawstring also works really well compared to most other athletic shorts I’ve worn. I’ve never had to stop and readjust the drawstring or waistband. 0 reason for me to buy anything but these again.
Store owner replied:
Hello Maximilian,
Thank you for the 5 stars and the detailed review of the Isami Stretch Fight Shorts! It's great to hear they fit perfectly right out of the packaging and that the drawstring held up better than other shorts you've trained in. That kind of no-fuss fit is exactly what we aim for.

Compression shorts fit tight/snug the way they are supposed to, but not to the point of being uncomfortable or cutting off circulation. They came with the cup already inside and the cup didn’t create any discomfort nor move much within its place. Taking the cup out and putting it back in required a little finesse to make sure the cup fit perfectly inside the compression pouch, but aside from that these are very nice and worked perfectly during training WITH and WITHOUT the cup.
Store owner replied:
Hello Maximilian,
Thank you for the 5-star review and the thorough breakdown of the Cup Compression Shorts! We're glad the fit struck the right balance, snug without cutting off circulation, and that the cup stayed secure through training both with and without it in place. Good call flagging that it takes a little finesse to seat the cup just right.

Leather lining inside makes it a breeze to clean, albeit it's not perfect - it gets pretty slippery when going a harder pace and lack of ankle straps makes it slippery. 2 pieces of Velcro to tighten the area solved my problem though. Its roomy enough to fit a pair of cloth shinguards underneath as well to nurse any injuries.
Store owner replied:
Hello Terry,Thank you for the 5 stars and for the detailed rundown on the Kickboxing Shin Guards! The leather lining making cleanup easy is exactly what we want to hear, and it's great that the fit gave you room to layer a pair of cloth shin guards underneath when you needed extra protection.Good to know on the slip at a harder pace too. That's useful feedback and we'll pass it along to the product team. Smart fix rigging up the Velcro yourself to lock down the ankle area. Thanks for sharing that closeup, the white pair looks sharp. Appreciate you taking the time to write this up, Terry.Best regards,The ChokeSports Team
