Surprised at the speed and efficiency of delivery. A very high quality light weight gi -shrank about 2-3% Which was perfect - I had ordered a size small pants which I prefer. And I was pleased that the Gi still cracks on delivery of the correct technique which is excellent for such a light fabric - seems to stand up well to grabs and general sparring. The only downside is the lack of Kanji which I can resolve over the winter months when I will use my Isami 480.

That's exactly the kind of durability Isami is known for. On the Kanji, you're likely thinking of the Kyokushin embroidery we used to offer. Isami stopped producing Kyokushin-specific gear back in 2015, so we no longer personalize gis with that embroidery or labeling. The gi itself is unchanged and built to the same quality, just without that specific detail. Sounds like your Isami 480 has you covered there for the winter. I was shocked and disappointed when I put my new gi on that was so expensive and came internationally to the USA from Japan.There are no inner ties to the gi top to keep the gi closed.

ISAMI has been crafting karate gis in Japan for decades, and this gi is trusted by high-level practitioners and instructors both in Japan and around the world.We want to assure you that without the inner ties, the gi will still stay in place during training — it may just take a little time to get used to the different feel. Having trained in other Isami models, including the K-450 and K-470, I can say that the K-790 Ultra Light offers a distinctly different experience. It is exceptionally lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for intensive training and warm conditions. The freedom of movement is excellent, and the overall construction remains consistent with Isami’s high standards. While it does not provide the same structure or snap as heavier models, it performs very well as a practical training gi. In my experience, it is a valuable addition to a rotation, particularly when comfort and mobility are the priority.

Very good and comfortable for summer training (especially a demanding Kyokushin one), the material is light , breathable but sturdy and has the feeling of good quality. The cut is also perfect. I love it, and I know where my next one will come from.
