ChokeSports orders are shipped from Japan with duties and taxes unpaid. If your country applies import charges, you will be responsible for paying these fees when your order is delivered. These costs are set by your local customs office and collected by the courier—not by ChokeSports.

Because every country has different rules, charges vary depending on the destination and the type of items ordered. Below is an overview of what customers in major regions can expect.

Last updated: May 2026. Trade regulations change frequently — please consult your local customs authority for the most current information before ordering.

CUSTOMERS IN THE US

  • As of August 29, 2025, the $800 duty-free exemption has been eliminated. All shipments — regardless of order value — are now subject to import duties and taxes.
  • Most ChokeSports Japan-made products currently carry an estimated duty of ~15–18%, depending on product type. Rates are subject to change due to ongoing legal proceedings and trade negotiations.
  • These import charges are mandatory and are collected by the courier (FedEx or DHL) at the time of delivery.

CUSTOMERS IN THE UK

  • Orders under £135 are currently exempt from customs duties.
  • VAT applies to all orders, regardless of value. If applicable, VAT is collected by the courier at the time of delivery.
  • Note: The UK government confirmed in the Autumn Budget 2025 that the £135 customs duty exemption will be removed by March 2029 at the latest. Until then, the current threshold remains in effect.

CUSTOMERS IN AUSTRALIA

  • Orders under AUD 1,000 are generally duty-free.
  • GST may apply depending on the product category.
  • Most ChokeSports orders to Australia arrive without additional charges.
  • For more details, please visit the Australian Border Force website.

CUSTOMERS IN CANADA

  • Canadian imports valued over CAD 20 may incur customs duties and taxes. Given typical ChokeSports order values, duties and taxes will almost always apply.
  • Expect to pay GST/HST and, in some provinces, PST.
  • If applicable, these charges are collected by the courier at the time of delivery.
  • For official guidance, please visit the Canada Border Services Agency website.

CUSTOMERS IN THE EU

  • Currently, orders under EUR 150 are exempt from customs duties. VAT applies to all orders, regardless of value.
  • For orders above EUR 150, additional customs duties may apply.
  • Important upcoming change: From July 1, 2026, the EU will remove the EUR 150 customs duty exemption. After this date, a flat €3 customs duty per declaration line will apply to all low-value shipments, and standard customs duties will apply to orders over EUR 150. If you are placing an order that will arrive after July 1, 2026, please factor this into your cost expectations.
  • If applicable, these charges are collected by the courier at the time of delivery.
  • For more details, please visit the official EU Commission customs procedures page.

What does this mean for your order?

If your country applies import fees, these charges are collected by the courier at the time of delivery. These fees are imposed by your country's customs office, not ChokeSports. ChokeSports has no control over these charges and cannot predict the exact amount you will be billed.
