Isami BOXER Gloves: New Label, Same Glove
You ordered the best Japanese-made boxing gloves money can buy. Then the box arrived and the label looked different. Fair reaction: wait, what?
Here's the full story. No sugarcoating.
What Changed
Isami updated the printed label on their BOXER glove line.
The original slogan, "Hard Knock Life," has been replaced with "Just Keep Going."
That's it. The label. The slogan. The print on the glove.
The leather, the foam layering, the stitching, the fit: none of that changed. You're still getting the same handcrafted, made-in-Japan glove Isami has built its reputation on for decades.
Why Your Gloves Look Different From the Photos
Isami made this change internally. They didn't send advance notice. We didn't get a memo.
Our product pages and collection images still show the original "Hard Knock Life" label. That's not a mistake on your end. It's a photo lag on ours.
We're updating all product imagery as fast as production and logistics allow. Because our BOXER gloves are made-to-order in Japan with approximately a six-month lead time, updated physical samples take time to arrive.
Depending on when you ordered, here's what to expect:
- Orders shipped before end of 2025: Your gloves may carry the original "Hard Knock Life" label. Those were built and labeled before Isami's stock of old labels ran out.
- Orders from 2026 onward: All gloves, whether made-to-order or from existing stock, are now leaving the factory with the updated "Just Keep Going" label. The switchover happened at the turn of the year.
If you received gloves with the "Just Keep Going" label and ordered based on photos showing "Hard Knock Life," you received the correct product. The updated label is now standard across the entire BOXER line.
