🧼 Washing & Shrinkage
Expect Some Shrinkage: Your gi isn't pre-shrunk. It may look a bit large at first, but will adjust to the perfect size after 2-3 washes.
Washing Instructions: Wash at a maximum of 40°C. Avoid bleach to protect the fabric's integrity. Dry cleaning is safe.
👕 Drying
Hang Dry Method: Use separate hangers for the top and pants. Dry in the shade to maintain its shape.
Tumble Dry Caution: If using a tumble dryer, stop at 80% dryness to prevent excessive shrinkage. Then, hang it to finish drying.

Quick Action for Stains: Wash immediately after practice if stained, especially with blood, to avoid permanent marks.
Rotation Strategy: Like many of our customers who train frequently, consider rotating multiple gis. This ensures a fresh gi for each session and extends the life of each one.

Blown away. 40 years on the martial arts and this is by far the best karate gi I have ever worn. The classic gi shrunk exactly as promised and fits great. The embroidery is thick and beautiful. I immediately washed the gi twice as instructed and once I saw the fit, I ordered another embroidered gi. Anxiously waiting now. Chokesport/Isami from here on out.

K400 Gi. Great shipping time, amazing quality karategi, was too long on the trousers initially but a hot wash at 60°C sorted that out very nicely. It now fits as if it was made for me (5'10.5, 80kg wearing the size 5'11/size 7)

The dōgi is big but it shrinks to appropriate size after a couple of wash cycles. It breathes incredibly well, and the jacket is comfortable and stands up to hard training and sweat without staining.

This is my second Isami Karate Gi Classic. My first one is still going strong, even though it's being used extensively. Due to training 3-4 times a week, I needed another gi and I didn't have to think about it twice and ordered this one again. The quality is excellent, the fabric feels soft on the skin but is tough and durable for sparring/kumite, and this gi also has the awesome 'snap' that makes performing kata's even more enjoyable. The measurements (after shrinking) were spot on, just like last time. Customer service at ChokeSports and the communication about my order and shipping was, again, great. Thanks again!

I've been wearing gi's from different brands up until now. This is my first Isami gi and I absolutely love it. The fabric feels soft and light on my skin but seems to be super tough and durable. The pants give enough freedom of movement. The quality and fit of the gi is excellent and the size chart (after shrinking) is spot on. I'm 167cm tall and I've bought the size 4 jacket and pants (Size 5 would probably fit me too, that's just a matter of personal preference). I've measured the gi after the first couple of washes and all measurements ended up within 1cm of what it said in the size chart. Shipment was pretty fast considering the package needed to travel across the globe (2,5 weeks from ordering to receiving). The customer service was excellent and I will definitely order here again.

This is my third K-400. The other two are still going strong. In the style of karate I teach we spar a lot and these gis are ideal. They are sturdy and never binding with great style to boot!

This is my second time ordering Isami Gis. First time with Choke Sports. First gis have lasted more than four years and counting. Teaching and training several times per week. These gis are the best!!!! Comfortable and durable!
I have had many Gi’s in my teaching career but the k-400 is one of my favorites it has a nice traditional feel to it and it’s not super heavy feeling but you can still get a great pop out of it! The height chart was a little hard to read for me tho so check it out and measure your self I need a 4 and it says that a 4 is for someone who is 5’3” and I am 5’8” overall amazing gi super comfortable not too hot to wear but still a heavy durable gi to train in!!
This is my 2nd ISAMI Gi. Great quality product and I will definitely buy it again.Not a five star only because of the pants sizing. I'am 5'10 and 220 lb and purchased size 7 Jacket and size 6 pants. Usually I am wearing size 6 jacket for more tight fit. Decided to go a couple inches wider this time.:)So after washing my Gi and Shrinking process I've got perfect size jacket, exact match to the sizing table, but my pants did not shrink at all, and even though it says size 6 on the label it has measurements of size 8 pants. Nothing that tailor can't fix , but for the pricing of this gi I would expect better fit.I wonder if I had to order size 5 pants or it was just a glitch in sizing.

This is the best ivory karategi I've ever tried. It has the traditional Japanese cut and feels great during sparring. I know the K-500 is supposed to be even better, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. Overall I'm very happy with my purchases at ChokeSports and always recommend them to friend and teammates.
This is by far the best quality gi I have brought. Its also the most comfortable. I highly recommend this gi to any one thinking of buying it. I was also impressed with the amount of communication I received on when and where my purchase was. I will be recommending choke sports to anyone who wants quality and great service.
